Jessie was born and raised in Hong Kong. She worked as a psychiatric nurse in Castle Peak Hospital for years before she obtained her first Degree - Bachelor of Nursing in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). After resignation, she worked as a full-time research nurse, part-time clinical instructor in CUHK, and teaching assistant in the International School as voluntary basis.
Few years later, she fulfilled her dream of studying arts and obtained her second Degree – BA in Visual Arts from the Academy of Visual Arts, the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) with First-class Honour in 2010. In the same year, she received the “Louis Mak Chinese Visual Arts Award” and “Padma & Hari Harilela Scholarship for Outstanding Students” from HKBU.
Jessie’s artworks are mainly inspired by life anecdotes and personal experiences, through infusion of contemporary elements into traditional Chinese painting. She has special interest in exploring the relationship between Arts, psychiatry, psychological and cultural issues. She is currently working as a freelance artist and her favourite medium includes Chinese Painting, Ceramics and Seal engraving.
