Leonora Chan

Leonora was born in London. Since graduating with an MA in Communications Art and Design from the Royal College of Art in London, her photographic work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in London, Paris, Stockholm, and New York.

She mainly works in analogue format and loves shooting on film and developing prints in the darkroom. Space and lighting are carefully controlled elements in her work that combine to create powerful and dramatic ambiences. Everyday situations are transformed into beautiful, colour-saturated scenes that closely resemble cinematic stills. Travelling and the act of visual documentation keep her inquisitive and striving for new ideas and concepts.

She lectures in Graphic Design at the University for the Creative Arts, UK. Alongside her photographic practice, she is also a freelance Art Director in the publishing, arts and culture sector.
