Man, Fung Yi

An integral member of Hong Kong's contemporary art scene, Man Fung-yi had graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the CUHK in 1990, and further obtained her M.F.A. degree and M.A. degree in Religious Studies (Daoism) at the CUHK in 1999 and 2008 respectively.

She has participated in numerous exhibitions, including "Century — Woman Art Exhibition" at the National Art Museum of China in 1998; "The Wall: Reshaping Contemporary Chinese Art Exhibition" at the University at Buffalo Art Galleries and the China Millennium Monument in 2005; and "30 Years Chinese 'Abstract' Art" at Art Museums of Barcelona, Palma and Madrid in 2008. She received the Critic Award of the Century Women Art Exhibition in Beijing in 1998 and the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition Award in 2003. Her works are sought after by museums, corporate and private collectors. Most recently, a pair of the artist's signature brass 'hulu' pieces, Tranquility, was auctioned in Sotheby's Asian Contemporary Art sale.
